In progress ...
Welcome - in the following we will introduce you to the Chair of Therapeutics II of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (formerly Chair of Physiotherapy). This homepage is a private offer under the responsibility of the head of department, which you can use voluntarily.
Our field of expertise mainly focusses on diagnostics in the area of (physio)therapy and their consequences for therapeutic processes.
In doing so, we follow the principle of anchoring the fundamental concept of evidence-based medicine in practice.
As a strategy for a medical practice that is conscientious and committed to a scientifically and medical based approach we integrate three areas (internal evidence, external evidence, and patient perspective).
According to that, we examine each claim to the rules of an objective and systemic research.
Here, we consider all load factors, the heterarchy/ hierarchy of the performance structure and the concept of physical load and stress.
Our second priority namely the effects of movement and training on bio-psycho-social adaption processes mainly focusses on the objective assessment of the external influencing factors (physical load) and the subsequent reactions (physical stress).
In that way it is possible to examine if the consequences of a disease, an injury or a physical disability in one individual leads to the same physical load but a different physical stress in comparison to another.
Beside our research in therapeutical science the main purpose of this chair is the education and subsequent academization of (physio)therapists.
Studies can be further continued and supplemented with advanced profiles in the master program or with teacher training in healthcare.
Despite this, we undertake international interprofessional learning and work by providing courses in related health study programs.
Since 2015, we also take part in the education of physicians at the Brandenburg Medical School.
Against the background of demographic and epidemiological challenges, the professionalization of state- approved medical professions, which has already taken place in the international area, is of particular social relevance and is absolutely necessary in Germany.
This is not only the endeavor of the associated professional associations, but is also a measures adopted by the federal and state governments.
We therefore make a key contribution to healthcare in Germany with a state-of-the-art university.
With our online presence we would like to support you with advice and help, although we know that a virtual world does not replace the personal conversation.
Since many things can only be clarified in a personal and trusting discussion, feel free to contact us.
Best regards and wishes for your health

The fields of medical technology and physiotherapy do a very good job both in teaching and in research. The degree programs Medical Engineering and Physiotherapy are very hands-on, but at the same time they are strongly research-related ... This is especially true for the cooperation with the laboratory-well-equipped physiotherapy.

The evidence-based and performance-diagnostic approach you are pursuing is of paramount importance both for the professionalization of physiotherapy and for the enhancement of your professional education.
